The pelvic floor is part of our anatomy that is often overlooked. Yet, 1 in 3 women suffer from pelvic floor issues which can include incontinence, bladder/bowel weakness, overactive bladder, pelvic organ prolapse, and painful intercourse. By learning more about the pelvic floor and strategies to strengthen this muscle group we can help keep the pelvic floor strong and help issues from becoming a medical problems.
In this workshop we will
- look at the anatomy of the pelvic floor
- discuss pelvic floor conditions that might affect your clients
- look at strategies that can help the pelvic floor
- discuss yoga specific strategies for the pelvic floor
- discuss the role of yoga teacher in bringing more awareness to these issues
- discuss what is beyond our role and what medical professionals we could refer clients to
- go through a yoga class specifically designed with the pelvic floor in mind
